Technology Resources For Parents

Dear Parent and/or Guardian,

This school year, now more than ever we will need to work together, communicate and establish procedures for a new digital classroom.  Our district will lead the way in technology participating in a collaborative learning community. This district-management system, powered by Google Suite Education, provides access to online classrooms, Google Drive (documents, spreadsheets, presentation, forms, and Meets).

Our staff has been utilizing Google Apps collaboration tools to enhance the experience for all students.  These tools allow direct access to instructional content, assignments, assessments, and the ability to electronically submit work.  In addition, the district has a one sign in login system (Classlink) to access all curriculum and software utilized by students and staff.  The technology team has created short videos and guidelines, showing a step by step process of our software and curriculum.  These videos can be found on our website on our homepage labeled “Technology Resource for Parents”.

Our website will continue to grow and be updated throughout the summer and the entire school year to assist all parents/guardians as well as students in every way possible.

While we do not provide accounts to parents or guardians, you are highly encouraged to explore Google Apps with your children by logging in together with their google username . Only your child can log in to his or her account via any web browser and can show you what they are currently working on in class.  For privacy concerns please utilize your child's google username for log in.  No other email or gmail account is connected to our domain, therefore it can not be accepted.

Students should consider their school account as an extension of the classroom, subject to the same rules of respect and courtesy that we expect in school.  All students must adhere to Valley Stream District #24 policies regarding remote learning.  In addition, procedures within our Student Code of Conduct handbook will also apply to our digital learning environment.  Parents are encouraged to support the discussions our teachers are having with their children by talking about online manners and safety.
